excuse me for jumping in here, Rangers, but having assisted some young Canucks enlist down there, I do have some advice that's pertinent. If I fuck up, well, you fellas will slap me down quickly enough.

Carl, first thing you gotta do is get an American Visa. No Visa, no enlistment. Full stop. Wander on down to the local American Embassy and talk to somebody there.
Second thing, if you haven't yet, mosey on to the Official American Army Recruiting site.
Third, none of your prior training counts. You have to go through the American Army's Basic Training and so on. Different terms, different SOPs, etc.

No go with the Swedish Army?

Get yourself down to Marseille, join the French Foreign legion - they'll take anyone!! :twisted:

Just know you are theirs for 5 years, no ifs or buts! :wink:
