FOG Intro

Post by Oilpatch »

Gentlemen, request permission to register, assuming you're in the mood to take an FOG "never was" on board.

I've done some lurking after finding the site with a link, but only enough to get the lay of the land.

I do have some familiarity with the subject matter, as my brother earned his tab in '90. And I did have the pleasure of meeting Ranger Purdy (then SGM, I believe) at graduation.

Standing by with stories, if requested. And looking for the avatar dump.

No, 3Min, while I have rotated through Houston once or twice; I'm home in Louisiana.

Welcome aboard.

Whose stories do you plan on regaling us with, your own stories, or your brother's stories?

Ranger Spartan, I wouldn't tell my brother's stories without attribution AND without a real good reason, ie, regarding CSM Purdy.

By way of explanation, I have noticed that new intros are sometimes told to tell a story when introducing themselves, hence the "standing by" comment.

I do have a few of my own that would be appropriate for the Humor section.

Patch-
Welcome aboard! I assume that you work primarily offshore. My hat's off to you. Many, many years ago, I used to install the foghorns, signal lanterns, and photovoltaic panels that power them on offshore platforms. Jumped some platforms out of Galveston, but most were out of Morgan City, La. Friday was the day to go, as that was usually steak and seafood day. Good chow!

Post away Oilpatch. You said ya'd looked around the site so ya know ya can't hurt our feelings.

Go over to the 1/75th section and add to the CSM Purdy thread. He was my platoon sergeant and the first guy to holler at me when I got on the computer a couple of years ago.

Welcome to the board.
