OPT 40 Secured

Post by JMar »

11x/ABN/OPT40

Took the oath Monday after the most sitting and waiting I have ever done in my life. Thank God for 1st Sargeants who can grease some skids.

Ship date: 20060214 (Which is why strings had to be pulled)

Thanks to the Rangers who advised me on how to get what I wanted.

Don't ya love it when a plan comes together?

I'm glad you paid attention and didn't question our instructions. It does work. You just have to hang tough and don't sign anything until it says Option 40 on it.

Congratulations.

Excellent work JMar. MEPS is a long grind, eh? :)

Talk to Joseph PrettyDeepWater for advice these next few months, he's right on target. The only thing I can think to say is what I am telling myself:

"PRESS ON, REFUSE TO QUIT."

Whoah easy cdwdirect.
Im not a BTDT. I really dont have advice to give. I only filled you in on what may happen at MEPS plus sent you a few links on Rangers and how you could gain rank while still a DEP.

So your happy about getting the contract...Good for you!

Now the easy part starts...Get moving and start prepping your mind and your body. Get ahold of some APFT workout information and start executing. You don't want to be one of those kids that runs five miles for the first time in RIP!

You'll do alot more sitting and waiting then you thought was possible. It'll stretch the limits of human endurance. Have fun getting your ass handed to you!
