Sitrep: SledgeHammer (RANGER)

Post by McD »

I recieved some snail mail from SledgeHammer. I'm not going to translate his hand writting into a typed letter so I will give you the highlights.

"I finally left 30th AG this past Friday after 2 weeks of that place. So far it isn't bad at all. I'm kind of disipointed actually. I got put into 1st Plt with people that did 4 pushups on their initial PT test........ I didn't do great, only 35 in 1 minute, but I'm hoping to improve that number when I get more acclimated to the heat here. The heat has been a killer here and you can hear ambulances constantly going by...... "

He goes on to say that the training cycle has been modified to reduce the number of heat casulties. "...my SDS almost got in trouble today for being to hard on us. The smokings we get are a joke to what they should be. ..."

He is doing PT on his own at night when possible and has linked up with ElevenX. He says hi and he is keeping himself motivated and focused!

I'll keep you up to date on his progress!

Thank you, Ranger McD, for posting the SITREP. It's great to hear how he's doing.

Let him know we're pulling for him. If you can, tell him to keep drinking water! and if he wonders how much, the answer is way more than the guys who are falling out because of the heat.
