nock, just kill yourself. I'm most certainly not against putting a few down. Hell, I've done PT a couple of times and have no recollection of it. However, that was AFTER MEPS, in the Army, at my unit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the legal limit to drive in most states .08? You said you blew .65, am I correct? And if so, what the fuck were drinking, bong water and soju? I think if you blew a .65, you'd be dead. Man, pull your head out of your ass.

SFC Hit_it, at the Nashville MEPS, everyone was required to take a breathalyzer test as well; could it be a regional thing?

*note- I'm not sticking up for nock, just curious.

Could be regional. Noone does it in NYC.

The point remains that he went to MEPS with a mission. He failed that mission, not because of the enemy, but because of his own faulty backwards planning.

He could have done without a beer for 12 hours.

Those of us who have deployed have done without for much longer than that.

I haven't had a beer in 5 months. I have a mission I'm on myself right now. Preparing to go back to the line in outstanding shape.

Real warriors make decisions like that without hesitation. It's not about you. It's about what you can bring to the team, stud.

Also, SFC Hit_it, I concur, what the fuck was the recruiter thinking? Did they not have "the talk" before hey went down there?

Dumbass. Was your MEPS visit a surpirse? I highly fuckin' doubt it.

I had a private in BN that was a good, motivated little fucker.........when he wasn't drinking, which was not very often. The kid could shoot, hump, and ran like a scalded dog, but he was unreliable. I never knew which private I was getting on a daily basis - the squared away one or the fucking wino.

Do yourself and US a favor, find another future profession. Your "social" drinking is going to get a warrior killed, if you happen to pull your head out of your ass long enough to get somewhere.

I do miss the green bottle, bro.

His recruiter should have told him to stay away from the booze prior to going to MEPS. His own fuckup.

I'm sure his 1SG nailed his ass to the wall for that one.

I almost castrated a fucker for similar shit some time ago. New recruiter so it was ultimately my own fuckup.

Not going to lie to you, I do miss the Sergeant Major bottles of Jinro. Then washing them it down with a fuel blivet-sized mug of OB Lager. Ah, the old days, when Korea was fun.................

I did not want to bump this topic again but I saw this happen to 3 guys at MEPS yesterday. They started drinking heavy the night before and about 2am security had enough and called their recruiters to come pick them up. If a recruiter has to pick your drunk ass up at 3am for something that could have been avoided its not a good day. One of the guys was shipping out that day, and I think even he went home. You have to take this serious, those guys military careers might be over and they havent even taken the physical yet.
