Jump Week

Post by MAB78 »

Hey Everybody

Just got finished with tower week and im getting ready to jump Monday. They had Ranger Rendevous this week so we got to see the regiment running when did our last 5 miler. Cant wait to go to RIP as long as I dont break a damn leg in jump week. The conditions should be just right with the hurricane coming this weekend but at least the ground will be soft. Almost everyone from my Co has either quit or fallen out of ABN so its down to me and one battle buddy goin to RIP. Either way ill get to RIP unless they bury me in the front leaning rest so here I come. Im finnaly getting a shot at what I want so its game time 4th quarter. Ill check in again after jump week.

Sincerely

Thanks for the report! You'll have a blast on Monday....don't sweat it. Keep your knees to the breeze and you'll do fine. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the SITREP. I really appreciate you guys letting us know how it's going.

One more week and we'll have another Airborne cherry!! Hang tough.

Then the real fun begins. Always remember they want you to quit. Don't do it. Never. Life on the other side is a grand thing. Get through that door. Drive on!! All the way and then some!!

Have fun puttin your knees in the breeze youngster, hollywood jumps. Just make sure you exit the bird with a tight body position feet and knees together, head down (you'll avoid twists in your risers that way).

I"m glad you mentioned how many people QUIT from your original class, kind of surprising when it first happenes, there's always somebody who quits or gives some dumbass (but seemingly logical "to them") EXCUSE as to why they quit or why its not such a good idea to go to RIP (or Airborne School for that matter).

They're all slugs, make sure you pay no attention to'em and reach your objective........BECAUSE

ITS WORTH IT!!!

Now handle your business soldier!!!

Just curious, are you up for honor grad candidate? I have yet to hear anybody mention that they are. Its in the final jump week that they used to make their decision, they take you in a room and a black hat will ask you questions, many of which are given to you (during your final block of instruction) on that very same day of your first jump so if you are PAY ATTENTION TO THE BLACK HAT (pay attention anyway btw).

I was up for honor grad but wasn't payin attention during the final block of instruction on jump week, I just couldn't wait to jump and fucked up during the questioning period by the black hat.

Feet and knees together! Go ahead and pull your reserve whether you need it or not, we've got to keep those riggers honest! That was a joke. Are there any of those ROTC females in school right now? Ahh... memories.

Good luck.

Good luck.

Do exactly what you've been taught, the way you were taught to do it and you'll be fine.

This is going to be a tough one because of the weather. You'll be jumping out of your ass towards the end of the week.

everyone else has said it, but it bears repeating: feet and knees together! Do not reach for the ground. Listen to your instructors, follow your drills, and you'll be fine. Trust me, this week makes up for everything leading up to it.
