Bully911 sends his first report from Reception

Post by Earthpig »

I received this yesterday from Bully911. Thanks for the update, Bully. Let me know how things go when you hit OSUT as well.

Hey Rangers,

I shipped out last Tuesday and I'm now in Reception. It's as boring as Hell, but we should be going downrange to OSUT next Thursday. There are a few other Option 40's here in Bravo Company, but they mostly seem like shitbirds who don't know what they're getting into.

You'd be amazed by how many "soldiers" try to quit or are on Suicide Watch. In fact, one "man" in my company faked a seizure and fell out of his bunk to try to get out.

The Drill Sgt's mostly leave us alone and the food's pretty good. The only bad part is all the standing around. It ain't bad, though.

Well, I'm staying motivated through all this. Can't wait to actually start Basic.

It's what happens sometimes when you try to get spineless jellyfish to stand up for the first time in their lives. It can get messy at times.

Sigh.

That's a damn shame, Ranger rgrpuck. It must suck having to put up with people who quit before they even start.

Ah, the old "I had a seizure and fell our of my bunk" dodge :D .

Tell Bully good luck.

It looks like Bully got his eyes opened before he got there!

Hmmm, I wonder how that happened?

It also looks like he might be headed in the right direction!!

I thought that was an Army Tradition!!!!

On a serious note, the sad fact of life is that some of those guys are scared to stand up and be a MAN, they get to reception get scared and want to go back home to mama, girlfriend or anybody that allows them to slug there way through life.

I hope the DI's keep'em in and square they're fuckin asses away.

Thanks for the SITREP from Bully, EP. I hope the rest of our DEP's read this so they know what to expect at the very, very, very beginning.

Thats my boy!

Got a form letter with his OSUT unit address yesterday. He scribbled on the bottom, "Doing good, glad I trained so hard, PT not bad, lots of smoke, too easy!!!" He seems to be eating it all up.
