last night i was hanging out with a bunch of buddys at a local event. later in the night after most of my friends but 2 were gone. this group of guys that i have known for awhile started talking shit. i ignored them as being a dep i was afraid of fucking my future up. well this punk ass kid comes up and pushes me and says i heard you were doing some pussy Ranger shit. i didnt respond and he pushed me again. the cops came running down about 10 seconds later when they saw me take off my shirt. now i really would like some advise from Rangers on what to do in that situation and how a Ranger would have handled it. this isnt one of those tell me how to mame this dude blah blah.....because if a Ranger would talk this out or what ever that works for me. i can fight (i boxed and wrestled through elementry middle school and high school).i just want to know how to react next time.

Then you shouda went to his house later preferably around 0430hrs (thats when the french and the indians attack...) Then ya shoulda broke in the house, sodomized his sister and set the house on fire and shot the people running out.

If you give a shit about your future, you will learn to have the self-discipline to not get into physical altercations with others in highly public venues. It's a lose-lose proposition and by the time the cops or security show up, half the people won't care, or remember, who threw what first.

The other guys were just jealous because they'll be sitting around the same town year after year after year being the assistant manager of McDonalds or 7/11.

Bottom line is you did the right thing thinking about your future first. Hot heads generally don't mix when trying to make sound decisions. And the ability of one's self to put anger and emotion aside in the midst of such a situation is not a common trait found in most people.

If you had kicked the dog crap out of the punk ass kid, the gratification would have only lasted avery short time before the realization of the consequences began to materialize.

Of course it was once said "never hit anyone in anger unless you're absolutely sure you can get away with it......."

Thank you all for the advise. i didnt want to walk away cause of his hostility. i felt if i walked away i might get tackled or punched from behined.

Then be cool and maintain. You don't HAVE to fight. And you shouldn't because of the consequences. Walk when things have eased off. You don't need that shit.
