For the officers to march around with. Oh, and machine gunners carry them because they need all the extra weight they can get their hands on. :)

Yep, The Machinegunners in addition to other crew served weapon positions, at least for the primary shooter, such as AT or Mortars also. At least it was that way when I was in. Is it still that way PLF?

They won't give you a 9mm, but you can carry whatever you want...just bring yours from home.

So I could bring an ivory handled revolver like General Patton?

Oh yeah, Troy555, try reading here.

One more thing, why don't you give us an introduction and get yourself an avatar?

yea edpokemon. A shiny white handle pistol, better yet, get one that glows in the dark, is just what the enemy will need to zero in on ya. Anything you do to be a target will save your men. They will all thank you afterwards when they are standing over your lifeless body.

Let me tell you something troy, first and foremost take your time and read through the board.

I was a 60 gunner, I had two weapons, the 60 and the 9mm. Before that, I was an AG and my only weapon was the 9mm. Before that I was an ammo bearer and my only weapon was an M-16.

Don't worry about the pistol, because if it was ever needed to be used by me in combat, that would mean that I was fucked. In batt it is a secondary weapon. They are to be used in the most dire of circumstances.

In line plts., only the 60 teams get issued them, unless things have changed since I was in.

READ AND HEED.

What's all this shit I'm hearing this morning about "taking one for the team"?

"Gladly take one for the team". Bullshit. I wouldn't gladly take one for the team. Ungladly. When ya take one for the team it usually means someone fucked up and put ya in the position to make that decision. If you survive then ya whup some fuckups ass unmercifully. Never get in a position to take one for the team. The team ain't doing it's job if ya have to make that choice. Ya don't gladly do it. It's part of the job. No hesitation. When it's all over ya realize ya took one fer the team and start looking for the POS that put ya in that position.

Stand on yer own two feet guys. Be good at what ya do and try to get better. Work with yer team and be the best you can be.
