I know what you were saying here, However there was still a little of offense taken here.soldiersdad wrote:I sit here and read the posts on this board and most are fantastic and loaded with information. I do not post much anymore since my son grad RIP cause I feel it is not my place to comment, BUT, i just want to say one thing to this quitter. Enjoy the 82nd that is where u belong. For the rest of your life u will wonder " what if". Everytime u see a Ranger, Everytime you hear something about a Ranger. Everytime someone asks u why u didn't become a Ranger like u said u were going to do. You will wonder how your life would be different. Just my thoughts. Enjoy the 82nd. it is great for some but not if you have higher expectations of yourself. soldiersdad

Skyshark, Can't see why there should be any offense taken. He seemed real happy about going to the 82nd and evidently that is where he things he belongs. Maybe he should have decided that at MEPs and someone with the balls to at least give RIP a chance would have gotten the slot. He quit without even giving it a chance. Never meant by my comment that the 82nd is not a fine unit and the soldiers that are in it are not courageous warriers. Maybe you should have explained why you took offense to my remark. Like I said, am sure there are many in the 82nd and other airborne units that would have loved to have that wasted option 40 slot. Many have taken the run from jump to RIP and found out it wasn't for them. He didn't have the balls to even make the run.soldiersdad
You are correct, I should have explained why I felt that way. I know what you were saying and it is all good, It was just the way I took, (since this guy was a quitter he belongs in the 82nd). I know you didn't mean it that way it was just the way I took it. It's all good. :D

It looked like that to me as well. But we both have common sense, Skyshark.SkyShark wrote:You arecorrect, I should have explained why I felt that way. We can determine underlying intent in written word.

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.
