I sit here and read the posts on this board and most are fantastic and loaded with information. I do not post much anymore since my son grad RIP cause I feel it is not my place to comment, BUT, i just want to say one thing to this quitter. For the rest of your life u will wonder " what if". Everytime u see a Ranger, Everytime you hear something about a Ranger. Everytime someone asks u why u didn't become a Ranger like u said u were going to do. You will wonder how your life would be different. Just my thoughts. Enjoy the 82nd. soldiersdad

Well said Dad, I will say this to you young man. At least you had the balls to come back on to this board and tell people you fuckin QUIT!!! That's more than many do who quit and we never hear from them again.soldiersdad wrote:I sit here and read the posts on this board and most are fantastic and loaded with information. It ain't easy bein a Ranger is it? Neither is life bruh, and neither will the challenges that lie ahead for you, I hope in some measure you learn from this experience (but from my experience people who quit during RIP or before getting there will take a much longer time to fully understand the tragic decision YOU AND YOU ALONE MADE).
Good luck in the 82nd, I hope you don't face a challenge that causes you to "want to quit" on your buddies there as well.

You wasted a slot that somebody could have been successful with. You wasted our time. I cant belive you gave up on a dream. It speaks volumes for your lack of character.

When I was a 1SG. we were given 5 slots to Air Assault. I wanted one but had troops who wanted them too. So, I sent 5 hard chargers to the course. 1 came back 2 days later and said he didnt make it. I asked him, were you sick, puking blood, passing out, had a temrature of 109....WHAT??? He said, No, First Sergeant....I quit...That mother fucker swept 4 Motor Pools, and was the object of my hatred EVERY fucking time I saw him till he exited the military. I cannot abide a quitter. I can accept a man failing if he dies, passes out, pukes blood...but QUIT!!!!
A lesson for you Deps. You will notice that guys (Rangers) on here are interested in success whatever your goals are. If your goal is Airborne, we support that. But to come on and say you want to be a Ranger and not even give it a shot....run before the fight starts... I wouldnt want that guy on my six because as soon as things got tough...my six wouldnt be covered.
Silverback is right....your a quitter and damned if I want you wearing what others die to get. Ban this pogue!

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

He's the kind of guy that someone else has to carry his ruck for.... 2 miles into a 12 mile footmarch. Then he'd probably be the same guy who pusses out and jumps on the 5 ton, and forgets to get his ruck from his buddy who is now carrying 2 rucks for the rest of the way.
