Thank you. A Guinness please! And no I am not the Gen. son. We have the same first and last names but no relation that I know of
But he was the commanding gen. at benning when I went through Basic.
The Drill Sgts had a ball with me for the 1st couple of days, then the Black Hats at jump school for a week, but I caught shit all the way through RIP both times!!!

He was my BN Co in Germany in '81. Pretty good dude, for a LTC.

This is no shit. I stepped on my dick and ended up on the SGM's detail, cleaning "Jammin' Jimmy's" office one night. He kept a humidor full of cigars on his desk, and me and the other PFC on detail were fucking around. I grabbed a stogie and held it to my nose and took a good long whiff. I've got my eyes closed and I'm saying, "mmmmmmm... nothin' like a fine cigar", when LTC Hendrix walks in. I just about shit, and my buddy is trying not to laugh. So I'm standing there, locked up, with the cigar still to my nose and Hendrix just stares at me and finally says, "you just take that one with you, son, I damn sure don't want it back". He grabbed something off his desk and left.

Sorry for the hi-jack, now back to your welcome home party.
