Hey Ranger,
It's like you said "what Ranger does not have trouble with his knees?"
My knees are toast too, (no knee pads were ever used in my era, we just took a knee in rocks / any terrain.
Firstly, physical therapy should help. I think flutter kicks help,
also swimming helps and the ol' mountain bike.
It's the pounding from running and the twisting stress from rucking/ hiking that agravates the knees.
Somedays after a run, simply walking down a flight of stairs is too much for me!
Don't ignore the pain Ranger, in your line of work you need to be mobile.
I'm no Doctor, just another Ranger with fucked up knees
Good Luck Bro'.
Advice for Fucked up knees
Ranger Desert Sloth, My Chiropractor advised me to take fish oil tablets. She said it would help lubercate all of the joints in your body. I am not a doctor but I have noticed that I am feeling better and don't feel as much pain in joints ( although I do not have an injury like yours). This might help take away some of the discomfort.

Man, fish oil caplets like in those GNC Mega Packs of Vitamins give me the worst burps.Stickman wrote:Ranger Desert Sloth, My Chiropractor advised me to take fish oil tablets. Ranger DS,
My sports medicine doc says to take that Glucosamine/Chondroitin stuff.

I'm kinda bowlegged, and overpronate. I finally got some decent insoles (Sole Ultras) and that makes a huge difference for my knee pain when I'm chasing the rugrats around the gym.

Ranger Desert Sloth,
My dad is a pediatrician and he believes highly in Glucosamine. My dad, mom, and brother all take it and found there knee working and feeling better after a little bit of time. I also went to a knee specialist a few months ago because I was having anterior knee pain. He told me to quit doing leg extensions because it was messing up the alignment of my knee cap and told me to buy some glucosamine. It cleared 90% of my pain up. Here is another research article on the supplement.

DS,
I've had similar problems with my knees, altough not as severe as yours. Glucosamine has worked wonders. If there is a COSTCO near you, try the Kirkland brand.

,
My right knee is shit. Or was because ever since I moved here (15 years now) I started swimming in the sea almost everyday. Recently less swimming but the years that passed actually helped me.
Without medication and with lots of swimming (In salt water) the pain is 50% less.
