Introduction

Post by jasonglh »

Hi, I'm Jason age 33, I am currently in 2nd semester of a 2 year RN program. I was an EMT working the street for 7 years at an ALS service before my lumbar spine turned into train derailment.

My father and stepfather were both Army and served in Vietnam. I was unable to enlist due to asthma but have much respect for the military.

I frequent a number of message boards. I have lurked here for a while absorbing the stories and the great camaraderie here something I have missed greatly since being out of EMS.

Thanks for the welcome Ranger Steadfast, certiorari, SnafuRacer, and Ranger Bell.

I will try not to wear my ass as a hat.
We need someone with your great experience to "clean the scene" and take care of the eventual victims about a chewtoy incident.

Welcome. In the country I live in there are not that many EMT types and God help you if you get into a car crash. I’ve seen people picking up victims and throwing them in cars to rush of to the hospital. No neck brace no backboards. Only around areas that have frequent accidents you may see a backboard and so on.

I went thru EMT school in Washington state and have been going crazy thinking what if I crash one day. The ones that exist do the job but they need at least 100 times more EMTs.
