I have nearly always bought my ammo off of cheaperthandirt.com. They have a ok selection. I dont know if its what you are looking for Ranger RangerStew, but it works for cheap ammo.
I bought 500 rounds of 7.62x39 for only 47 bucks but the make is Wolf

and of course, ammoman.com

What type are you looking for? I would steer clear of any of the Russian stuff for an AR. They coat the cases with some lacquer, and it will eventually get hot enough to melt and cause a case to sieze in the chamber.

I roll my own on a Dillon RL550B progressive press. 300-400 rounds an hour. I don't save any money, I just get to shoot more for the same cost. :)

Cheaper than Dirt ain't too cheap on their ammo. Cabelas is expensive too. Check out the above mentioned plus A.I.M., Southern Ohio Gun(S.O.G.), and hmmmm.......The Ammunition Store. Get a copy of the Shotgun News and brouse the pages for others. Most places will require a faxed copy of your drivers permit and a statement saying you are not involved in criminal activity.

www.midwayusa.com often has some deals with surplus GI ammo

If you shoot often enough, and can afford it, I would consider reloading your own.

RangerStew:

Try www.georgia-arms.com

Ammo is shipped right to your door in surplus ammo cans. IMO, prices for .223 and others is reasonable.

Use caution on alot of the Russian or steel cased ammo. Most of it is laquered and basically it will turn it to glue once you heat it up. Makes for a complete bitch when it comes to extraction. Great for slow fire range plinking but not for much else.

That's just my .02
