Opt. 40 Secured

Post by Max »

Secured my contract earlier today, 11X, Opt. 40, and they also put Opt. 70(Intent for SF) on there for some reason. I ship May 19, OSUT starts May 27. Now it's time to see if I can't wear out a brand new pair of running shoes by the time I ship. I also asked my recruiter about possibly getting a ruck, he said he could probably dig me one up, so I am going to work on rucking too.

Congratulations on acquiring that Option 40. I'm still uncomfortable with that Option 70. I'd have it removed myself. It looks like a school blocker to me.

I think what that Option 70 does is give you a fail safe. If you fail in your endeavor to get to Ranger then you'll be shipped to SF. Am I clear on this? I'm not sure what that Option 70 does.

Would be a nice Christmas present if ya was a Ranger by then. GL.

On thing tho - You don't get presents from Uncle Sam. Ya gotta earn them and ya gotta work harder then you ever had to make this present come true. AND, ya gotta believe wholeheartedly in thyself.

Step one in many. Getting the Option 40 was the last easy part. The fun parts lay ahead.

Congrats for stepping up.

I saw on NoahH contract that he posted a picture of that he has opt 174 posted in his assoc option spot. Does anybody know what these are for?

Ranger Bell, when I asked the career counselor at MEPS about the Opt. 70 he said something along the lines of, "when you are promotable to SGT SF will contact you about attending SFAS". I have no idea how accurate this information though. I will see about getting the Opt. 70 removed. I could see how that may make it look like I am just using the Regiment as a stepping stone to SF.

Assoc. Option 174 is the cash bonus you get for a 4YR enlistment.

DON'T FUCK WITH THE OPTIONS.

if someone contacts you, turn them down. attendance to SFAS is voluntary.

the option doesn't block anything.
