Issues about childhood health

Post by Hanging Man »

SFC Hit It,
I took my ASVAB and took the physical yesterday in SD. I did fairly well on test: 91 overall and 128 GT but an issue came up about an illness I had when I was very young. I had hepatitis when I was three or four and the med. staff sent me to lab for blood work. Do you have any idea if this is DQing? Doctors have told me before I no longer have the virus but MEPS wanted be sure. Just a waiting game now. Thanks in advance.

What type of Hepatitis? A,B or C? Those would be the more common ones.
If it's not Type C and it's not chonic, I don't think it will be a problem, but that's just my 2 cents worth.

Ranger Hoover: I believe that is the reason for the med. hold-I do not know what type of Hep it was. I am awaiting lab results at this time. The MEPS Doc assumes it was Type A because I got it at a day care in Belgium. I will clarify once results are received. Thanks.

Yep, Day Care? 99.9% chance it was Hep A.
Should not be a problem, once you get it you can't get it again.
I could not see the Army refusing you for that one.

i was coming back here to state the same thing.

if there is a question, and nothing has showed in your blood work, you will take a chest x-ray.

if nothing shows, you're golden.
