army wives...
I just read Kyla's intro, and I have a thought to share... please forgive me if this is inappropriate.
My husband is in the process of applying to OCS because he hopes to become an infantry officer and eventually an elite Ranger. I am catching a lot of grief from my family about his decision to do this, and about my decision to support him. After reading about Kyla's loss and everyone's reaction to it, though, I understand a little better why I must support Justin, and why I am so proud of him.
It is because the qualities that make him want to become a Ranger are the qualities that make him such a spectacular husband.
If he weren't a person who were willing to put his own safety on the line to defend others, how could I trust him with our son? If he were a coward, how could I be proud of him? Because he wants to face and conquer challenges, rather than back away from them, I know that our marriage will last through adversity.
My husband is not a Ranger, but I have great faith that one day, he will be. I will be standing beside him until that day and long after.
Ranger wives and girlfriends, I honor you. Happy Valentine's day.
-Bobbi

Wish there there were more out there like you - and wish I'd met one, but that's another long, sad story.Bobalicious wrote: I am catching a lot of grief from my family about his decision to do this, and about my decision to support him.
Do have a question, though - why would your family be giving you grief about this? Or am I missing something obvious?

Got it, Bobbi - thanks, that's kind of what I thought. Again, welcome, and please let any of us know if we can assist in any way.
