Re: SITREP
I must say, I am extremely grateful I am not stationed up at Wainwright. Temperatures are an average of 30-50 degrees colder than Anchorage. And black rapids training area is literally the north pole. That shit SUCKS. Summer time is in the single digits or colder. Fortunately I have not had the win...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers,
I'm not exactly sure what happened but I received orders for 3rd Batallion. I begin processing onto post tomorrow. Hopefully with this change of batallions I recieved I'll be able to deploy this year.

Re: SITREP - Michael
Ranger Jim, Unfortunately, we were marched off the stage and were immediately bussed back to the barracks after the ceremony so I was unable to introduce myself to MSG Mullen. He did, however, come down the ranks and shook all the graduates hands. I didn't have the opportunity to introduce myself so...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers, Today was the day I've been waiting for. Today I donned my tan beret and my scroll. It's a great feeling knowing I've accomplished a goal I set out to complete over a year ago, and this is just the beginning of my journey. I want to thank every Ranger on here for the support you've all prov...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers, Proud to say I'll be graduating with RASP class 04-14 tomorrow. It was easily the most challenging things I have ever done. I want to thank all the Rangers on this forum, past and present, for the support and information you've all provided. Graduation will be held at the Marshall Auditoriu...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers, Just a quick update. Today we did our swim test and the PT test failures got their second chance. After all that, we will be graduating with 77 out of the original 160 (as of right now). Still no word on what batallion I'm going to. Tomorrow is our fast rope training and our final RPAT. It'...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers, I am currently halfway through Week 7. This week we are training in marksmanship with our M4s. We had our final PT test and I managed to max out once again. I am 8 days away from graduation but I refuse to get complacent because as many of us have found out, you are not safe until the hour ...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers and future candidates, 28 candidates were dropped for possession of contraband. A good bulk of them were in the top 20 of the class. This goes to show that you can be a PT stud but that doesn't mean shit to the cadre or your CoC if you can't meet the standards put it in place. This served as...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers, I'm here with another SITREP. We finished up Week 5 on Friday. It dealed with marksmanship with the M9 and M4. The cadre are amazing instructors and I definitely saw an improvement in my shooting since basic. Unfortunately, we had a health and welfare inspection on Friday and around 36 peop...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers, just a brief SITREP. I wrapped up Week 4 yesterday. That concludes Phase 1 of RASP and now begins the exciting part. We had a 5 mile run this past week and I dropped my time by 3 minutes since Week 1, coming in at 33:02. We begin marksmanship this week and I'm extremely excited. I will keep ...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers, I'm proud to say I survived the misery known as Cole Range. Due to the 4 day weekend, my class began our 7 mile ruck to Cole Range on Monday. We were fortunate enough to arrive the day a rainstorm blew in and didn't blow out until the day we left. I must say Cole Range was one of the hardes...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers, Just a brief update. I moved over from Pre-RASP to RASP on Friday. After a brisk, short run over we unloaded our bags and then fun began. There was plenty of personal time given to you in Pre-RASP, so use it wisely. I was fortunate enough to spend five weeks in Pre-RASP preparing for what's...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers, I apologize for the delay as I haven't accessed a computer since AIT. About a week after my last post I was informed I'd be shipping out to Jump School. I left Fort Sill the 22nd of November and arrived at Fort Benning on the 23rd. There is not much to say about Jump School that hasn't been...

Re: SITREP - Michael
Rangers, I have successfully completed AIT and I am currently in hold-over status awaiting my spot for Jump School. AIT was a very interesting experience, despite the newly discovered privileges we were given, there came a much more disciplined environment and more was expected from us here then at ...
