Re: Recruitment Question

Ranger Goon,

Thanks for your reply. I am current an NREMT-Basic. My intent was to use my 4 years of Firefighting/EMS experience coupled with my 1 year of full-time (5-10 calls) per 24 hour shift on the Metro Ambulance to gain an Option 40 on my contract.

Re: Recruitment Question

Rangers,

I have encountered this exact situation. They first explained there were no 68W slots available, much less a 68W w/ an Option 40. They called as they put it, The ROC and one magically appeared, with surprising perks might I add. Actually, Ranger Goon, your story made me wonder if it was in ...

Re: Introduction- Marty

Rangers,

I have been filling out the majority of my paperwork at the recruiting station. I explained I only wanted a 68W w/ Option 40.

They did not have any of these available, however, they did offer me this.

68W
$5,000 sign-on bonus
E-4 starting rank
My choice of duty station anywhere in the ...

Re: Introduction- Marty

Rangers,

Thank You All for your posts.

Ironically, about 5 minutes after posting my last question, I came across the FAQ. It answered all the questions I had and gave me the resources to learn more about what I will need to do. I'm also psyched about the PT required and can't wait to begin pushing ...

Re: Introduction- Marty

I am quite confident I have exhausted the search feature over the last 3 hours. A 68W w/ Option 40 is what I want, or if that is not available, accept nothing less than an option 4, then follow the directions I've found here during my recruitment process to make my way to the regiment.

Being as I ...

Also, I could not find the Newt's avatar category and opted for a picture of Old Glory.

Introduction- Marty

Hello Rangers,

My name is Martin although everyone calls me Marty.

I am currently looking at the Army as a potential career path that I could take with my work background and skill-set. I have my A.A.S. in Firefighting, I am certified as an EMT through the National Registry. I worked as a ...
