Not even name tapes and cat eyes?
We still do that.

I got the old ALICE, set old school style (It was my ruck from Batt days). Since I'm now back in the Q Course (fucking nightmare getting orders), I've been rucking with old girl. I'd forgotten how painful the piece of shit was. As for the Leg CSM, Ha! You should see my CSM! Fucking retard!

We still have name tapes and cat eyes but we have been told that we can no longer have the e-tool and 2-quart on the sides. It's just another stupid decision that allows the CSM to be able to walk around saying "why is your shit all fucked up?"

Actually it makes it easier not having that shit on your ruck. That way the CSM can't say "why is your shit not tied down", "why is the tape on yoiur 2-quart cover cap fucked up". Believe me nothing on the outside of the ruck is better.

Funny how they changed all the things I bitched about after I ets'd. Coincidence, hmm...

I never used my e-tool once, I don't think I ever took it out except to clean it for inspections. But I could have used another 2qt, I actually used to carry my own IV so I wouldn't dehydrate.

Rangers....thanks for this thread.

It reminds me of why I went to SF: it was the stupid shit.

When SF got stupid, I jumped ship again, and finally got to a place where no one gave a fuck how long my hair was, or what gear that I used, or how I had it configured.

When THAT place got stupid, I jumped ship again.

Anyway....are you guys telling me that the current RSM is a tool?

Just curious.

I think they are talking about one of the two previous RSM's (perhaps both). You know one of them.

Lowe Alpine makes a internal frame pack in O.D. and Camo. I haven't been able to locate one as of yet.

$479 for the standard MMR model. Ouch ! I'll carry my shit in a brown paper bag before I'll spend that much. Maybe I'll just upgrade my satellite package and get a new couch and to hell with walking.
