Ive talked to Zak a bunch since hes been here at Polk. Talked to his COC to ensure he gets a slot. This kid has a good head on his shoulders and I know he is going to do great things no matter what he does in the military.

He takes explicit guidance and follows it to the letter and then moves with a spirit of violent execution.
He's really been enjoying his soldiering lately, and that's a bit of well done from where I'm standing.

One thing my son said. If i have repell down a cliff. Face 1st after RS. Then I know I am in the wrong fucking place. He meant in combat :-)

It was during the grad demo Ranger Bell. When a Ranger repelled down the wall face 1st with his weapon in hand blasting away. That's when i ask my son if he could do that. His answer was If I have to do that I know I am in the wrong fucking place

hmmm....we all trained to do that. Actually it was great fun. You oughtta see the looks on the bad guys face when he looks up at ya and yer looking down at him through a window. Pretty dang cool.
