BlackHawk Tactical Gear

Post by Castro »

Can Rangers and Special Forces groups in the Army use their own special gear such as BlackHawk and SureFire?

Rangers have more or less a system of standardizing gear, except for a few areas in the Regiment. You would find a common set of gear for every Ranger, then a bit of variance depending on what weapon system the individual was carrying. So, if you're looking at Black Hawk's tactical gear and envisioning what you may or maynot be using, you needn't worry, it isn't going to be any of that.

Other units have increased latitude in what they are allowed to use, with room for more customizations. All the same, within each unit, you will find more than less standardizations. This is not namely due to strict unit requirements as the collective knowledge among unit members about what works best, is more reliable, provides more flexibility and durability in use.

In the end, tactical gear, while relied upon, is an expendable so it's best not to get too attached to it. It works well for a specific or limited time frame; something with greater flexibility and use comes along and you discard it, adopting and adapting to what's new and move forward.
