Intro MSchrute95

Post by MSchrute95 »

Rangers,

Thank you for making this forum open to the general public. I am 22, male, in New England, and a recent college graduate. My purpose for this visit is to learn more about service opportunities within the National Guard and Ranger School. Thank you.

Rangers, thank you for the welcome. Ranger Jim, here are the results of my self administered PT test today:

Push ups- 61
Sit ups- 64
Dead hang Pull ups- 10
2 mile run- 14:46

Clearly, there is a need for improvement without compromising attention to detail on form. I will be sure to continue to thoroughly explore the threads.

Ranger Disinfertention, I am from the Southern Connecticut area. I have a friend who lives in Kittery, it's nice up there, are you from around there or further North ways? I have indeed made a post for some specific questions I have and have seen you responded. Thank you!

You have a fair amount of work to do. Have you contacted a recruiter?

Hi Ranger Jim,

Yes, I am in contact with a recruiter and we have spoken more in depth about life in the 1-143. Also, I wanted to give an updated PT test score as it's been a couple of months since my last one. Here are the results of my self administered PT test this week:

Push ups- 63
Sit ups- 68
Dead hang Pull ups- 12
2 mile run- 14:24
5 mile run- 37:46

I am making steady progress, paying attention to form. Any feedback on where my 5 mile run time currently stands and where it should be would be greatly appreciated.

The 5 mile run is a pass or fail event with the standard being 40 minutes. So my feedback on your time is that you are currently passing, so that is great. Someone out there is always going to be faster. But that is a good time. In my first few years I had a goal of sub 30 minutes. I never hit that, came close. After that it sat around sub 35 minutes for a long time which is feasible and a good goal to have for folks that enjoy running. There is no right or wrong answer. Refer back to my first sentence. It's a bit of a self challenge / pride event.
