I am a 17 year old from Green bay. I swore in with an 11x Option 40 contract for the Army last April and been in the 14 month senior program since then. My ship date is June 4, 2018. I would like to thank the members of this site for both your service to this country, and for the valuable information you have provided and are continuing to.
My main dream as a child was to become a United States Marine after high school. It was what i looked forward to for many years. However, once i turned 17 and began seriously meeting with recuritors I saw the Army had much more to offer, and that continue to be true.
I look forward to becoming a part of your discussions, and hopefully being able to get involved in the mentorship program.
Thank you for your time,
Alex

Re: Alex's Introduction
Thank you Ranger Jim.
Since you asked for more information about myself, here goes
As a child I moved from Detroit, my home city to Green bay. I wrestled throughout my entire life, and played a verity of other sports off and on. I was involved in a lot growing up, weather it was school clubs such as forensics or FFA, or other things including Boy scouts and Venture crew. I was always an active kid, who always had dreams of serving the country. I was raised in a very patriotic household by strict conservative catholic parents.
I knew i wanted to see combat in the military, which as a youngster lead me to the Marine Corps. But the main factor for me decided to leave that childhood dream and peruse a career as a Ranger was that i received an Army contract that provided me with at least the chance to get in the Special Ops world, and if i quit it was on me. The Corps couldn't guarantee me that chance, as that was difficult.
After high school, and while i am in the military I want to start me degree online in Kinesioligy and massage therapy. Once I have served my time, I wish to attend school full time, hopefully at the University of Connecticut for medical school and earn a doctorate degree in exercise physiology. I would like a career as a personal trainer, hopefully running my own company. And helping professional bodybuilders and fitness models get ready for their competitions.
I hope this helps
