APFT Sitrep:

Today I had this girl from work who is joining the Army come out with me to the track so we can administer each others APFT. I told her to count my reps and time my run and not to tell me until I am done so I can focus solely on pushing myself on the next event. These are my scores according to her:

Push Ups- 76
Sit Ups-54
2 Mile Run- 10.17
Pull Ups- 18(self administered)

My sit ups were definitely miscounted. She must have reset my stop watch in the middle of my run accidentally. One thing that will be done to improve my fitness is nutrition. My hours at work have increased and I notice I’m getting less water in a day and occasionally skipping breakfast. I eat plenty of fruit, meat and bread because it's convenient. For better nutrition, I will start with drinking more water, eating more veggies, and not eating dinner so late so I have an appetite for breakfast.

APFT Sitrep:

Push Ups- 72
Sit Ups- 75
2 mile run- 12.42(PR)
Pull Ups-17

Me and Rednovember along with a future SEAL candidate and PJ candidate completed a workout that included running and calisthenics. On our run back I noticed the PJ DEP was slowly but surely gaining ground ahead of me. After I fell maybe 5 car lengths behind him on the bridge I trucked along to hopefully run ahead of him and started getting winded and could barely stay a few paces behind him. I noticed he wasn't or at least didn't seem to be at full exertion. Then I noticed his very short strides, it was like he was jogging. Upon completion of the run I ask him about his short stride and said it helps prevents injury and burns less energy. I read something like this before, but didn't really believe it. The way I saw it was the longer strides you take the less in amount which will burn less energy. I gave it a shot on my 2-mile run and proud of the results. My next physical aspect in particular I want to improve is 80s repetition for push and sit ups.

Just curious who is helping out your SEAL and PJ associates ? Do they have a program in place like this website ? Stay in your lane and absorb the massive gift of information that is this website.

Roger, Ranger IntelToad. The PJ said he has a mentor who is CCT which revolves around PT. I don't believe either have a program that goes to the extent that this site does.

Ranger Jim, this site has been been extremely effective in helping me prepare for OSUT, BAC, and RASP. I truly feel that the "Five Mentees Report Here" task-list and the "Map Reading and Military Symbology Class" is giving me a serious advantage over other Ranger hopefuls.

APFT:

Push Up- 76
Sit Up- 71
2 Mile Run- 13:10
Pull Ups- 11

According to Mentee letmeinplease you usually get 10-15 minutes in between events, the least amount of rest you will get in between events on the APFT is 5 minutes. So to prepare for the worst, I only rest 5 minutes between events which made all the events besides pushups a little more challenging. I did pull ups on football goal post to challege my grip.

Kenny, minimum time by the regulation should be 10 minutes for the last soldier between events. When I was in TRADOC we kept a stopwatch during APFT events to ensure at least 10 minutes elapsed but we generally had enough folks that it was not a problem... I do recall having to wait after the last one completed situps until we could start the run though. Maximum is supposed to 20 minutes.

APFT Sitrep:

Push ups-81(PR)
Sit up-77 (PR)
2 mile run- 12.58
Chin ups-15
APFT Score: 298

Since my last sitrep I have had the privilege of meeting up with Mentees Rednovember and J031 as well as Ranger Disinfertention, it was very interesting and informative getting to know a little of his story and insight. I have also been doing research for some of the essay assignments of the task-list as well as knot tying(making a rappel seat with rope is my favorite).

Kenny, you are now under 90 days until you ship. You are progressing and you appear to be a prime candidate for the Ranger Regiment. Never, never quit!

Kenny, when you are a week or so before shipping, don't forget to post a SITREP in the letters from school thread.
