Introduction Mike

Post by newbiemike »

Hello, my name is Mike. I am an 18 year old senior in highschool. I work as a clerk at Safeway, and also on a Christmas tree farm. I wrestle for my school, and also run both cross country and track. I have wanted to be a Ranger since I could walk.

Right now, I am within a week and a half of going to MEPS. I hope to sign a 11X Option 40 contract. Thank you Rangers for your service and I would be honored to one day serve as one of you.

Thank you very much Ranger Jim and Ranger CharlieRanger1FFV. I am an Eagle Scout, and was in Boy Scouts for 7 years before I aged out. In school I am studying business marketing and business leadership. I took 2 years of French and 3 years of Mandarin. I worked for a family friend (unofficially) on a dairy farm for two years, where I shoveled cow poop, drove tractors, weed whacked, and did everything imaginable except for actually milking a cow.

I want to be a Ranger because I want to push myself to the farthest limit of my body and then another 50%. I am highly motivated and want to be trained by the best military in the world. I want to defend this country that's given me so much while serving along the best it has to offer.

I go to MEPS this Monday and Tuesday the 26th and 27th. My self administered PT scores are as follows:
Pushups: 82
Situps: 68
2 mile run: 12:45
Pullups: 13 (with good form)

I hope I have answered your questions.

Update:

I caught a common cold running around my high school. I informed my recruiter and will be postponing my MEPS date.

Ranger Jim and Ranger CharlieRanger1FFV, my apologies for the delay.

My recruiter just resubmitted my medical paperwork up the chain. I am expecting the results of that back no later than next Thursday.
