Intro-Cameron

Post by Ark »

Hello, my name is Cameron, I am a 19 year old from North Georgia and a senior in high school. I have been lurking around this website for about two weeks now reading as much as I can about Ranger Medics and the 68W Opt.40 pipeline and have decided that is the path I want to take. I was inspired to become a Ranger by a church member who invited my scout troop to attend Ranger Day at Camp Merrill where he did a demonstration in hand to hand combat. After that day I knew what I wanted to do.
Current PT Numbers:
52 Push Ups
51 Sit Ups
8 Pull Ups
(I'm going to take my run tomorrow 04/08/14 and will update shortly following)

Note: I have been following the APFT Improvement plan posted by Ranger Silverback for about 1 1/2 weeks now.

Welcome. Read the sitrep from bloody Limey about the medic pipeline. That breaks it down about as good as you are going to get. If you have specific questions let me know.

Thank You, Ranger Grim666 I will definitely be reading it several times. I'm considering taking an Anatomy & Physiology course this summer at my local tech school. Do you think that would be helpful? And having read your posts I know you've graduated RASP and SOCMC but you don't have Ranger set as your title. Do I refer to you as Ranger Grim666? if so Thank You Ranger Grim666!

Yes you will refer to Ranger Grimm666 as such.

Good situational awareness on your part to catch it, and catch yourself while posting.

Welcome.

Ranger Jim, yes, I was home schooled from 6th-11th grade and decided to get my diploma instead of a GED to make getting into the Army easier. However, my course work wasn't recognized or something or another and they said I would have to be a freshmen and could try to test out into my appropriate grade later. I ended up at my current school which has a self-paced curriculum where I've still had to re-do maybe 35-40% of what I had already completed. I'm currently on track for this coming graduation and I've also started my general studies for college credits I may use later down the road. Whatever it takes to succeed.

You sound like you've got a good head on your shoulders. You saw obstacles in your way and acted to remove them beforehand, striving to meet your objective. Again, good situational awareness. Keep it up. The Regiment needs smart young men, and even if something should occur along the way to prevent your serving there, I think you'd do well and be an asset to the army as a whole.

Follow the instruction given here, the Mentors of this site have a high success rate with their DEP's making it through the Ranger pipeline.
