PT test administered by recruiting office yesterday 20140128 in 7 degree weather -3 with the windchill:

85 Pushups
89 Situps
12:33 2 mile

300/300

Self administered pullups 18

Goal is sub 12 minutes on the 2 miles, 100 pushups, 100 situps,. 8 weeks to go till I ship for basic!

I will be starting Ranger Silverbacks APFT improvement plan this Monday 2-2-2014. I will be doing it for a month, I will post my results during the first week of March. On the days inbetween the running and PU/SU I will be cross training with biking or swimming and some bodyweight pt, leaving myself one to two days of rest a week.

The reason I pay attention to the pull-up is that you will be required to perform them in order to begin basic airborne training. The emphasis on upper body strength is you must be strong enough to pull the risers in order to direct the direction of your parachute decent. We have had some of our young men fail to make the cut to begin airborne training. Never, never quit!
