Intro- boomer478

Post by boomer478 »

Hi, my username is boomer478, I'm 16 years old (will turn 17 in a few months) and currently a junior in high school. I joined this site because when I turn 18 I want to enlist with an Option 40 contract to become a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment and I would really appreciate the help this site has to offer. To me, enlisting and being a Ranger would mean everything to me, I just want high school to go by as fast as possible so I can finally enlist, and I want the Ranger mentors of this site to know that I am dedicated and not wasting your time. Thank you for your time and service.

Well, now you have a baseline to build on. Monthly posting on this thread will be good. Now tell us why you want to be a Ranger.

Well, for a while now I've wanted to join the Army and become a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment because it's my main goal in life. I want to serve my country in one of its most prestigious units, I want to be one of the best. I work out a lot, talk to my recruiters often, and pretty much want high school to go by as fast as possible so I can finally enlist. I know I have what I takes to make it, because even though I may not be the strongest, fastest, etc., I am above average when it comes to physicality and mentality and I'm the type that doesn't complain, I just suck it up and give 100%, and I will do whatever it takes to be successful in training. Thank you Ranger Jim for the welcome and just tell me whatever you want me to do on top of my PT.

Begin by memorizing the Ranger Creed and think about living your life by the creed.

Month 2 PT Score
Push-ups: 68 in 2 min.
Sit-ups: 78 in 2 min.
Pull-ups: 15
5-mile run: 44:23
Thoughts: I know, my runs suck and I was getting pretty cramped up, but I'm working on it. Ranger Jim, Ranger ManchuV, if you could tell me some of the things you did to help your run times (and prevent cramps) I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

The standard events are pushups, and situps for two minutes and a two mile run. By the way, the ranger standard (minimum) for 5 miles is 40 minutes. You have a long way to go. You have time on your side. Never, never quit!

Not bad. Now tell me your thoughts on the Ranger Creed. Have you memorized it?
