Introduction - USMC

Post by Charleszeke »

Hey I'm a CPL USMC with 2nd battalion 2nd marine regiment wespons company CAAT (combined anti armor team)2. I'm a 0331 infantry machine gunner. My billet is gunner and has been for the last 3 years 10 months and I'm 21 years old. I deployed from October 2009 - may 2010 to Helmand province Afghanistan. Then with 2/6 in sept 2010 - jan 2011. My last deployment was the 22nd marine expeditionary unit in direct support of operation odyssey dawn from march 2011 - feb 2012. I have a 5 year contract and all my bros are getting out soon. I'm just trying to explore my options and perhaps find something more speacialized than what I'm currently doing. My brother is in the army in 82nd I believe. He's a sergeant, and I don't keep in great contact with him but I think he might've went rangers then tried out for green barets. In some direct action team now I believe.
Anyways I'm stationed in camp lejeune, nc. Not married and I love deploying, from what I understand rangers spend a lot of time deployed. I've read the faq's and I know it's not likely that I can get an option 40 being prior service. But networking and exploring options never hurt.

Welcome young Marine. You obviously have a warrior's blood pumping through those veins. Hang around for awhile. I think you'll gather a lot of good information here at AR regarding future military (or civy) ambitions. Thanks for your service to our country.
