Introduction

Post by ASOC_SAD_Killer »

Greetings,

I'm a recently separated (took the USAF VSP in Oct '11) USAF O-3. I was a 13B3K/U (Air Battle Manager). I'm still in the IRR. Now I'm a damn dirty defense contractor working for AFCENT. The reason I wanted to join the board was to try to reconnect with two Rangers I worked with in Afghanistan. I'm hoping some of you guys might know them and can pass along my well-wishes/contact info. I was the Senior Air Director of the Air Support Operations Center in Afghanistan (March-Oct 2010). For those of you who aren't familiar with the ASOC, in a nutshell, when you have your JTAC get on the JARN to call for air support, the ASOC is who he is calling.

Anyways, as the SAD, I was the primary POC/decision maker for all Close Air Support requests. During that time I was the only guy on shift who liaised with the "three numbered task force" who was fragged out for Air on Demand (AOD) at the time. I had a lot of conversations with the TF "123" (OPSEC) LNOs. The main guy I spoke to went by the callsign "Mug". He was a great (read: Pain in the Ass ;) guy, and we worked well together (twisted sense of humor). He was an NCO (I think E-5 or E-6). Anyways, he owes me some scotch for moving some mountains for him and I aim to collect!!! In lieu of the scotch, I'd settle for just getting in touch with him to catch up.

The other LNO was an O-5. I know his last name, but I'm not sure if I should post it, so I'll wait for further guidance. Both great dudes, and I'd just like to touch base. It's always good to know good people, and I try to maintain a robust professional network nowadays.

They would both know me by my USAF callsign- Killer.

Here's my duty station narrative:

USAF OTS Sept-Dec 2004- Maxwell AFB
UABMT (Class 6-12) Jan-June 2005- Tyndall AFB
JSTARS IQT/MQT 330th CTS June-Oct 2005- Robins AFB
128 ACCS (Air Weapons Officer Joint-STARS) Oct 05-Jan 08- Robins AFB
116 Ops Group Jan 08- Aug 09 Robins AFB
682d Air Support Operations Squadron - Air Liaison Officer/Fighter Duty Officer Aug 09-Oct 11

Deployments:
AWO JSTARS 7 EACCS Jan-May '07 al Udeid
AWO JSTARS 7 EACCS July-Oct '07 al Udeid
AWO JSTARS 7 EACCS Jun-Sep '09 al Udeid
ASOC ALO/SAD 504 EASOG Mar-Oct '11 Afghanistan

Now: Senior Military Analyst, AFCENT

Anyways, if anyone knows these two dudes, or can put me in touch with them, I'd appreciate it.

Yeah... I'm more of a sit-at-a-computer-and-talk-on-the-phone-and-stay-in-nice-hotels contractor than a Blackwater-snake-eating-mercenary-gun-for-hire kind of contractor.

It's pretty sexy. Chicks are always trying to get with me.
