Introduction

Post by USAForever »

Rangers,

I am a Specialist in the Army National Guard, and enlisted in August 2010. I graduated 11B OSUT in March 2011, and Airborne School in April 2011 (it was not in my contract but I was able to get a slot due to one being available and a high enough PT Score). Since then I have served with the COARNG in 1/157 Infantry, and now with the PAARNG with 1/110 Infantry.

I am putting in my OCS packet for the Board in May, and ideally hope to attend the accelerated OCS course this summer, IBOLC in the fall, and Ranger School in 2013. While my current focus is on getting selected for and succeeding at OCS, I am mindful of my future plans and joined this site for advice and information.

On a personal note, I am originally from the United Kingdom, emigrated to the US in 2007 and became a US Citizen in 2010. My Grandfather served as a Chaplain with the British Army in WW2, and the unit he was attached to (81st Anti Tank Regiment) helped train the Rangers in Anti-Tank weapons prior to the Battle of Anzio. He detailed this and their further experiences with the Rangers in his history of the unit which was later published privately. While at Ft Benning I was able to contact the Infantry Museum, and donate a copy to them after Graduation.

I look forward to reading the information and resources available on the forum, and my thanks to all for their service to this great country.
