But, my parents believe it is safer to join the Air Force. icasualties.org has the number of US Army deaths at 1,097 while the Air Force has 73. I am just trying to explain this to show why my parents rather me join the Air Force instead of the Army. I still have great admiration for men and women who serve in both branches of the military.
Do your parents also know the most dangerous place in the world is a US highway?

That the first US death due to war occurred in 1775 and total US deaths due to war through March 2010 was 1,314,000?
And that the first recorded US traffic death was in 1899 and total US traffic deaths surpassed 1.3 million sometime around 1963?

It only took app. 64 years for US motor vehicles to meet and exceed what it has taken over 235 years of war to accomplish.
