ASVAB Results

Post by Black2594 »

Hello Rangers, I took the ASVAB on the 13th of October at school. I scored a 66 on the test, and 114 on the GT part of the test. Just wondering if I should consider retaking the ASVAB at a later point, when I go talk to a recruiter or keep these scores.

PS: I did my worst on the Electronics Info. section, which is ironic as my dad is an electronics guru.
I don't want to settle for being just another medic. I strive for and want to earn the title 'Doc'.

An opt. 40 requires a 107 GT score.

There is nothing in the military that requires above a 110 GT score, so you are fine with the score you have.

Not that you had a choice in the matter anyway.

Ranger Goon, I think it may have changed to 110 GT now. Because my recruiter denied me the contract because I was 2 points shy in GT line score.
I believe the standard was dropped from 110 to 107 GT score actually. 107 is the current GT score required to get an Op. 40.

Me thinks as Ranger Goon175 is both a Ranger and Recruiter, I'd take his word as gospel according to USAREC.
A/3/505 PIR, 82nd 96-98
B/2/121 Inf, 48th BCT Iraq 05-06
B/1/118 Inf, 218th BCT Afghan 07

I'm not stupid, I'm crazy...there is a difference.

Don't take my word for it, go look at the USAREC message posted in the recruiting section that clearly states what the standard is.

Also, your recruiter doesn't deny anything, he simply shows you what populates on the screen based on your qualifications.
