Rangers,
Unfortunately, I am writing to update that I failed Ranger School. I easily made it all the way to the last event of RAP week, the 12 mile ruck march. I made a mistake and lost too much time on my second lap and paid for it dearly. I was stopped at mile 11 with 12 minutes left on the clock. I have made a mile in 12 minutes before, but Ranger School said that I couldn't, so I had to do as they said. No one wants to kick my ass for failing more than myself, more so because everything was physically easy up to that point (even the dreaded land nav was easy), and I have always made good time on 12 milers in the past. When I returned to IBOLC, I was denied a second shot and now I am awaiting Airborne. Once that is complete, PCS to Ft. Campbell where I can hopefully get another shot. I cannot, nor will not, go my career without earning my tab. I will never quit.
