Sitrep - RTAC 14 Oct

Post by lindy »

I finally received my orders for RTAC & Ranger school today. I'll be in RTAC 14-28 Oct and if I prove myself to the cadre, will begin Ranger class 02-12 on 30 Oct. Goon175 has provided virtual wisdom and guidance.

I'll provide updates after RTAC.

Cast or tab.

Dropped due to failure make time on ruck: missed it by 90 secs. Tried to make the min standards to save myself & it bit me. Rookie mistake.
Going back in Jan (next class) & will adjust my training until then.

Anything worth doing is worth doing again. I got a rucksack injury, so I got to do the Mountain Phase twice. Never, Never quit!

What the heck is RTAC?
A 1/75 93-97
B&HHC 2/75 97-99
RS 3,4&5-95

This mighty soldier on the eve of the war he waged
Told his troops of lessons learned from battles fought.
"May your heart grow bolder like an iron-clad brigade"
Said this leader to his outnumbered lot.

Never seen trying for the minimum ever work out. Kind of contrary to giving "one-hundred-percent and then some".
Roger that. Lesson learned and correcting mistakes to drive on.

FYI: for the Guard guys, make no mistake: Ranger Training and ASSESSMENT Course (formerly Pre-Ranger) is actually a selection course as its completion is required in order to go to Ranger school.

Sounds like a serious endurance problem there Stud! Key to rucking is "RUCKING!" However too much rucking rips your body to shreds (breaks it down). You need to build it up, build endurance.

Long slow runs............................. (and when I say slow I don't mean jogging, I mean run at a comfortable pace that will allow you to to complete a 5 and a 8 miler weekly. Between these days throw in short FAST runs and one day a week RUCK!!!!! Train HARD 6 days a week, one day to let your body rest (Sundays are great, that way you can take your 4th point of contact to church and give your heart to Jesus! ). January IS NOT that far away. Best of luck!
