11x option 40 contract

Post by ATX MARK »

Hello Rangers,
I have a quick question for you guys. I enlisted on 5/31/2011 for 11x option 40 and my ship date is 1/9/2012. At the bottom of my contract it says...
Remarks:
VEL MOS. couse length 14 wks/osut. physical demands rating and qualifications for the initial award of linfantry recruit must possess the following qualifications:
1. A physical demands rating of very heavy.
2. A physical profile of 111221.
3. Color discrimination of red/green
4. Correctable vision of 20/20 in one eye;20/100 in other eye
5.Qualifying scores. (a) A minimum score of 87 in aptitude area CO on ASVAB tests administered on and after 2 January 2002
6. Formal training ( completion of mos 11c course conducted at USA infantry school) mandatory.
I just want to know if remark # 6 means that i am going to be an 11c. I feel like this is a stupid question because 11x1 is my job and i know that 11x can either be 11c or 11b, but i just wanted some expert opinions. Also i wanted t see if it was even possible for me to be an 11c since my basictraining start date is 1/20/2012 and my airborne start date is 5/7/2012. that would mean that airborne starts 1 week after the 14 week infantry osut which wouldnt leave enough time to get training in 11c. I am asking these questions because i would much rather be 11b then 11c.

Thank you,

Mark

If the army makes you an 11C just go to your 1st sgt and tell him that you really really want to be an 11B and he will make it all better

That doesn't mean anything. It is on every 11x contract reservation sheet. You will find out whether you are a bravo or a charlie when you get to reception.
