Ranger David H. McNerney -- Hero

Post by Jim »

Back in October, we lost one of the truly great soldiers of this generation, First Sergeant David H. McNerney. Please take a moment to look at the bio from wikipedia and view the video of his funeral procession. Dave was an advisor to the 20th Vietnamese Ranger Battalion (TD20BDQ) when it was formed in 1962. He went on to be awarded the MH. I knew him for many years and he was one of the most modest men I've ever known. Godspeed, Dave.

The way I became a Ranger and have earned the small amount of success I have had in life has been mostly due to one quality - determination. Lefty.
