Difference between RIP and RASP?

My recruiter just told me that the name RIP has been changed to RASP but its still the same three weeks of hell then i go to battalion. but im hearing now that RASP is eight weeks, which one is it? im going 11x with an option 40. the extra weeks isnt a deal breaker for me, im still gonna go..i just wanna know what the truth is about the length of RASP. i leave june 29 2010 if that makes any difference. and just curious if you know that answer maybe you can answer another one, my parents would like to come to my graduation from RASP but due to a lack of money cannot, my recruiter cant tell me if i have leave if i finish RASP or not, does anyone know if there is leave or liberty after RASP?
