Treadmills

Post by fender »

Well it seems to always be dark when I want to go for a run (Post regulations...), so I have been restricted to the treadmills here on COB Speicher.

For me, it seems shin splints are inevitable while running on a treadmill. Does anybody here have any remedies for this?

I don't have a history of shin splints running on pavement, and it really only kicks in once I pass the second mile on the treadmill. I've tried the generic stretching (always!), setting an incline, and icing (I have no faith in this one), but the results remain the same.

The answer that I would probably give anybody else in this situation would be to man-up, however, I recently have heard a lot about shin splints lasting well past the time you are actually running and I really do not want to experience that.

Maybe some of those leg warmers may help.

Thanks Ranger,
but the whole reason I do PT is to show off my legs,
so that would defeat my purpose in the first place.

In other words "Fuck you Ranger FT...but my pink ones aren't working"....

Go Navy and you will be fine...other than that...eat bananas the night before you run and hydrate properly....and it shouldn't be a problem...maybe you're stretching, but not the right way...really... google it...you'd be suprised....

BTW...Your COC "requires you to run on a treadmill if it is raining?" Wow...just wow...

You had lit tracks in Iraq? I do live in a more secluded area of the base, but I didn't know they had tracks and stuff here.
They are probably having keggers that I know nothing about as well.

It's supposed to be dark during a zero-dark-thirty run.

There are no lit tracks that soldiers can run on? Things have changed since I was in.
