Good luck with running there for the next eight months, on a "consistent" basis. Could build Character though. Intro sounds better than: "the Judge told me..."

Assuming that 20100629 is your reporting/activation date.

Others will be along to abuse you in a bit. Your biggest friend and foe, resides between your ears. Oh yeah, don't swear unless you need to. Folks only heard the SGM swear once, cleared the building, because they knew I WAS PISSED OFF. In an Intro, seems "forward".

I am sure that the PT guru's will be along shortly, but, 42 and 68 need work. The DNF is obviously not acceptable, but you can work on that.

My advice.......try doing 100 pushups and sit ups (correctly) each day. I don't care if you do 10 an hour for 10 hours, just do 100 a day. Every week do an assessment. and see where you are for the two minute time limit.

Running....just got to do it.....

Just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Welcome and congratualtions for enlisting to serve our country as an Army Ranger. Best of luck to you with "luck" meaning opportunity meeting preparation. You have the opportunity, now you have to get prepared so you can make your own luck. Check out the "About Army PT" forum on this site for help in getting in shape. You have some time, so don't wast any of it.

I went to your blog and I will state this, that you better remove the Ranger heading showing. Until you yourself become a Ranger we do not want to see you using our own proud banner. We fucking earned it, you haven't done shit yet.

During these colder months, I've really focused on weight training more than anything (my lifts have gone up 30 - 40 lbs since my last post). My runs have dropped in frequency, although not entirely. (still trying to do 2 to 3 a week). My AFPT 'scores' have improved somewhat over the previous, although not as much as I'd have liked.

PU (chest to floor) : 42
SU (back to floor) : 68
2 mile run: DNF
Chin Ups (dead hang) : 11

20100210
PU (chest to floor) : 50
SU (back to floor) : 71
2 mile run: 16:20
Chin Ups (dead hang) : 11

(I've really slacked on doing push ups and situps, strength training is so addicting.)
Also, the first post on my blog gives a more in-depth analysis of my fitness level including goals & lifts.

138 days left.

Thanks for your time, Rangers.
