Introduction-Steve

Post by Tex »

Hello Rangers,

I want to thank all of you for defending our country. My name is Steve, I am a senior in HS and 17 years old in a small Texas town. In August, I was able to secure an 11x with an Option 40. I did not come to this site to make the process of being a Ranger any easier if that was possible I probably wouldn't be interested. However, I can't tell you how excited I am about my shot at being a Ranger and will gladly soak up any knowledge you can pass my way.

Currently, I ship out for OSUT on June 1st, 2010. As of right now I graduate May 28 but, I am doubled up on my classes so I can be done by Christmas. The sooner I can get out of this town and into the army better.

I greatly appreciate this site considering you can't just find unlimited information about the Rangers.

Welcome to the site, Steve, and congrats on securing an Option 40. Nothing on this site will make the process of becoming a Ranger any easier. That is solely up to you. What you can get from this site is a lot of solid information, guidance, and tips that might keep you from injuring yourself, will give you a clearer picture of what will be expected of you during your training and service in a Ranger Battalion, and possibly keep you from being a cadre magnet. My advice to you is to make a post in the Mentoring Zone, and seek out a Mentor.

Again, this site isn't going to make your path any easier. It can, however, give you a better shot at completing your goal. Statistically, the cards are already stacked against you. Why not lessen the odds?

Best of luck to you, and thanks for enlisting.

Welcome and congratulations for enlisting to serve our country as an Army Ranger! Best of luck to you with "luck" meaning preparedness meeting opportunity. You have the opportunity. Being prepared is up to you. The good thing is that you have a decent amount of time to just that. Don't waste any of it. Be sure to read and heed the ROE PM I have sent you.

Good intro, Tex. Weird thing is, someday you'll think back to that small town and wish you were there.
Good luck bud. Need anything, Im close.

Welcome, wildman.

Rock Island Ranger is correct, someday you will either be wanting to be back in that small town or you will actually be there.

Look, listen, and read.
