Questions about RIP

Post by JayThomas »

If you graduate RIP are you a ranger?

If you graduate RIP are you required to go to ranger school?

What is smoke? The forum description of what RIP is like says that it consists partly in smoke, but I don't know what that means.

Thanks a lot for any help.

I'm assuming that you're a young one...

1: Yes. You've earned the privilege of being allowed to join the 75th Ranger Regiment. You will have just enough knowledge to enable to function in the Regiment where you will learn "real" Rangering.

2: If members of the Ranger Regiment succeed in remaining in the unit for some unstated period of time, usually no less than six months, they'll get a shot at Ranger school. Failure will usually mean reassignment from the RR.

3: "Smoking" is a slang term for remedial training. Usually physically demanding and often required to reinforce specific points the new Ranger needs to apply additional effort towards. Can also be a verb.
