Welcome to the Site Ma'am. Your boy is in good hands.
Thanks for raising a warrior. There are a couple of other Ranger Parents on the boards, I'm sure one of them will be along shortly to help you out.

My mother worried about me every time I deployed during my 30 years of service. Mom's always worry.

Re: intro of parent
Welcome to the site. You've found your way to a little piece of mind. My son is also 1/75. He's been there since January. How long has your son been there? This is some ride isn't it? I haven't been at this long but a few things I've learned so far - your Ranger can't tell you a lot. That's tough on moms. It's ok. Let him know when he does talk to you that you understand his position. When he doesn't feel like he's going to be interrogated every time he contacts you, he will contact you more often. They work a LOT and the hours are nuts. No news is good news. Let go and let God and the Rangers take care of him now. They've been doing this a long time, they're good at it. Be proud, be very very proud.zanoffc wrote:Hello! I am new to this forum. My son is in the 1/75. I am very proud of his service and committment to the Army and to his country, although I admit that as a mom, I am anxious as his first deployment approaches.
God bless you and your family.

Welcome to ArmyRanger.com, Ma'am. You can certainly be thankful that your son is a Ranger. Hopefully it will give you some measure of peace that he has the BEST watching his back. As Jim said, worrying seems to me a mom's job. Hopefully you will find some support here.

Re: intro of parent
Welcome. I'm a Ranger Mom, too. Like everyone else said, your son is in good hands. It is scary and you will worry, but you will get through it, as will your son. I always tell myself that I need to be as strong as my son is.
Way to go, Mom, for raising such a courageous and tough young man!

Welcome to ArmyRanger.com and thank you for raising a warrior! Your service in support is important and needed. Never underestimate the value of each letter, each package, and especially, each cookie you send to him!

Re: intro of parent
You've heard some real wisdom from your peers who've been experiencing your worries for a long time already.
Have faith in how you raised your warrior, you gave him the attributes, it's up to him to make something of it.
I'd come home on leave all proud of myself in my "class A" soldier suit with all the 'scare badges' and all, and Mom would introduce me as "her baby".
Moms sure can keep you humble
