Which Weapons Are Allowed?

Rangers

I was wondering if you were issued a specific weapon, like an M-16 or an M4, once in battalion or if you are aloud to buy your own, or buy custom add-ons too them (sights, flashlights, etc.).

The only weapon you're encouraged to bring is your mind. I'm thinking you're taking a knife to a gun fight though....
