Brother,

I don't always agree with the NRA, but they are the biggest gun rights organization out there.

I'm a life member, though I don't believe that I'm current with dues (haven't gotten anything from the NRA in quite some time.)

Is it really worthwhile?
When you get lonely on deployment, your mailbag will be filled to the max with lots & lots of lovely letters, addressed to you personaly, begging for your bucks from the NRA, almost every specialist anti gun control mob, the Republican Party and a choice of a monthly subscription to a hunting magazine or a target shooting mag.
Enjoy, you'll never be shy of tiolet paper.

I'm a member and instructor and really love the legislative updates I get weekly. The mailings are a pain in the ass sometimes, but like any other BS junk mail, just toss it. NRA lobbies hard for gun rights year round and that shit costs money. And remember if Billary or Osama gets in they'll be only game in town!

The NRA does a terrible job at defending the 2nd Amendment, but at least they are doing something. Check out GOA (Gun Owners of America), they are 2nd Amendment hard-core.

Other than what's already been mentioned, many private ranges require NRA membership to join.

Repeal the 16th, enforce the 10th.

X2. Can't go to the range without it, and the GOA is the bomb...much smaller, but VERY active.

I am an NRA Training Counselor.I teach people to be NRA Instructors. What NRA classes have you thought about taking?
I am able to teach Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Home Firearm Safety, Personal Protection in the Home, and Range Safety Officer. I can also teach Chief Range Safety Officer also.

The basic course to teach consists of a basic course + the course that you would want to take. Then any other course you would not have to take the basic course again if you teach a course within 2 years.

I teach Pistol, Home Firearm Safety, and Personal Protection in the Home as one dicipline. The person must have prior training in pistols to take this class of training. I will be teaching you to teach people. You must know the basics to start with. If not then a person has to take the pistol class first along with the basic class to learn the basics of pistol management.
You can go to the NRA web site of www.nra.org/ and http://www.nrahq.org/education/index.asp for training in the nearest city/state, close to you. I hope this helps you and thanks for joining in the fight with us at the NRA
