The problem doesn't relate to gunshot wounds - the issue is an EFP tearing through a vehicle and ripping the occupants apart.

Having multiple tourniquets is not a bad thing. Why be opposed to it?

On my team we all carry two on our person.

If history is an indicator here, you on average have 3-5 pax per vehicle, with one EFP equaling 3-5 casualties. Do the math on tourniquets. On top of which it is a lot smarter for the injured person to do their first aid on themselves, with already placed tourniquets than to take people out of the fight to wrap belts and other crap around the injured person.

The argument that Black Hawk is solely in it for the money is stupid. Of course they're making money. But so is Colt, Lockheed Martin, Under Armor, Chevrolet and any other corporation related to the military.

But the bottom-line is that something good can come of this.


PS: Quikclot is the LAST resort here for use on a casualty.
