Iintroduction
Hi, my name is Michael and I'm 23 years old. I'm currently a cadet in AROTC at the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign. I'm a political science major schedule to graduate next summer. I'm hoping to branch Infantry and hopefully one day become a Ranger.
I'm looking forward to be an active member on the site and learn more about Rangers.

Re: Iintroduction
If you want to be an officer you should pay more attention to your spelling. Introduction is spelled with one "I" not two.MLee wrote:Hi, my name is Michael and I'm 23 years old. Ranger Jim, I will start with my reason of becoming an officer.Jim wrote:Is there any particular reason for becoming an Infantry officer?
Oh, and welcome...
I wanted to serve in the Army ever since 9/11. I know that this sounds typical and redundant. But I reside in NYC (Queens) and I have witnessed the tragedy with my own two eyes (I happened to be in Manhattan that day). I was actually planning to enlist but my parents wanted me to finish college first. I had intentions to apply to West Point, but I wasn’t a citizen (I was a green card holder) back then and I obtained my citizenship late sophomore year in college (Oct 04), so I’ve decided to enroll in ROTC. Then you may ask why Infantry? I want to be in the front and be the best. I want to be the best so I can lead soldiers and take care of them. Another reason is because I want to be a Ranger.
I hope this answers your question and thanks for the welcome.
