Introduction:

Post by Joseph »

Intro From: Joe

From: Columbus, Ohio

Duty Status: DEP (I leave for Basic on 7/7/05)

Possible Career Field: Currently is 25B w/ Option 40. (Still slightly concerned about not getting the full training length that infantry goes through.)

Reason for visit: I'm looking for any/all pertinent information available to help me prepare myself for RIP and the training thereafter.

A little bit about me: I'm currently 21yrs old and employed as a Network Engineer for a long distance ISP. I've got a bachelor's degree in communications. I've always been active in the gym perspective and have recently tripled my gym time to push myself to become the best. I'm pumped to have gotten the ranger option with my MOS and will see you guys as a fellow ranger soon.

Welcome pumped up Joseph

Don't fuck up like the retards that preceded you the last few weeks. If you have a BA in communications I think you will be up to the task (of not running at the mouth that is).

Listen and learn and you will go far

The odds are against you though, only about 30% of volunteers actually make it to Regiment and less than that make it a year.

Good Luck

By the way, I think you meant to say you are leaving in 07 and not in 05. You should watch the attention to detail thing.

Yes, I see that and it bothers me I can't actually change it. I've read almost all of the actual stickied posts regarding basic/ait/rip/etc, just a little more reading to do to fill in some more gaps.

And, granted failure rates are relatively high in the program, I will refuse to quit. There's a reason I had that option 40 added, and I intend to keep it that way. :)

Welcome and congratulations for enlisting and wanting to be a Ranger. An IT Ranger just does not sound right to me, but someone has to keep the Regiment on the cutting edge of technology.

You might as well have said this asshole..

I guess you are a retard. See what all that edumacation does to ya? Makes ya think your on level playing ground with everyone else you talk with. I got news for you, you aren't.

I gots me a Ranger tab and a MBA dickweed, so go back to those stickys and read the part where it says how to address a Ranger on this board or we won't let you play in our reindeer games.

Ranger Charlie 51, I apologize to you and all other Rangers that were offended by my prior post. I didn't realize that it came off so harshly, I'm not here to pretend I'm as good as you all or insult any of the Rangers here. I'm here to learn from you in the hopes that one day I will be able to follow in your footsteps.

Once again, I apologize.
